The Beartooth Highway, one of the highest paved roads in the country, was my access point to the spring skiing that still existed above 10,000 feet. So while crews worked to clear winter’s remaining snowpack along the road, I unloaded my skis and switched from sandals to ski boots in preparation for a day of human-powered recreation with friends. “
